MacHack 2001: The BASICS

		When is it?
MacHack occurs from 12:01 AM on June 21, 2001, and continues pretty much without interruption until midnight on June 23, 2000. This 72 hour marathon is the formula that has made MacHack the legend that it is. Sleep is possible, even sometimes desirable, but retiring to your room is a sure way to miss some of the excitement.
		What it is?
MacHack, in its sixteenth year, remains centered around cutting
edge software development. Each year the conference brings together
well-known names in the software business, as well as many students
and upstarts whose names we'll know soon enough, and fosters interaction
between all of the attendees. MacHack's uniqueness derives from
the informal feel and the LIVE coding that occurs around-the-clock
		during the conference.

		How Much Is IT?

Conference attendance costs $525. Students (who can provide proof
of their status) get in for $50. Be sure and examine the rules for students, since they have changed a little (don't worry they're still pretty liberal). There are discounts for early
registrations. Full details are available at the registration page.
		Where is IT?
The conference occurs at the Holiday Inn Dearborn, in Dearborn,
MI. This Detroit suburb plays host every June (this year on the 21-23). Plan to arrive
on the afternoon of the 20th and stay until the morning of the
24th. Hotel info can be found here.
